Roy Roark, age 61, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 3, 1952 to the late Silver and Fannie Potter Roark. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Mae Phillips and a brother, Earl Roark. Roy was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go camping, fishing and hunting. He loved his family very much and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda Wilson Roark; daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and David Brown and Sandra and Tim Holman; son, David Roark; sisters: Jean Potter, Georgia Arnold, Ella Davis and Carrie Harmon; grandchildren: Amber Brown, Jacob Brown, Ray Holman, Nathan Holman, Tyler Holman, Breanna Holman and Brittany Holman; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many special friends. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted by Pastor Kenny Ray Vaught at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from the Family Cemetery, located off Hwy 421. Pallbearers will be Chris Roark, Bob Roark, Blake Atwood, Ed Crowder, David Brown and Tim Holman. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 1199 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN 37683 Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
