Doran 'Doc' Swift Jr.

Doran "Doc" Swift Jr., age 52, of Mountain City, TN died suddenly on Monday, October 2nd in the comfort of his own home. He was born on June 29, 1965 to Doran Hadley Swift and Emogene Combs Swift. He was preceded in death by his son Dokken Swift. Doc graduated from Johnson County High School in 1983 and went on to be a self-employed carpenter for many years. Ever since he was little, he helped his father take care of their family farm where he worked to raise livestock and manage the land and equipment. Doc was a very smart, hard-working, free-spirited individual that believed everything happened for a reason. The things that Doc enjoyed most were spending time with family and his dog biscuit, reminiscing on old times, working in the garage, riding his 3-wheeler, listening to Rock-N-Roll and drinking ice cold Mountain Dew. He loved his family very much and always said that his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. In addition to his parents, Doran Hadley Swift and Emogene Swift, Doc is survived by his daughter Sarah Swift; his sister Pamela Hacker; his grandchildren Matthew Swift, Taylor Swift, and Zoey Swift; his nephew Jesse Hacker; his niece Abby Hacker, his niece Shawna Smith, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The family will receive friends Saturday, October 7th, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park.
