Joseph Elmer Dugger

Joseph Elmer Dugger, age, 76, of Butler, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.  He was born on December 7, 1941 in Carter, County (Poga Community) to the late Alvin B. Dugger and Polly D. Dugger. In addition to his parents Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Cable Dugger; daughter, Renee Payne; son, Jackie Dugger; sisters, Eula Harmon and Martha Harmon; brothers, Milton, Freeman and R.L. Dugger.  He was a farmer and had worked in factories.  For those who knew him best Joseph was a fisherman and in his spare time he fished a little more. He was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ and had attended Stout Hill Church of Christ. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lora Harris and husband Jim; son and daughter-in-law, Joey Dugger and wife Amy; son-in-law, Kenny Payne, all of Butler, TN; grandchildren: Daniel Dugger, Kelly Dugger, Nicholas Dugger, Morgan Payne, Bella Harris and Sidney Dugger; great- grandchildren: Jacob Harmon, Joshua Harmon, Amber Harmon and Harley Potter; sister and brother-in-law, Margie McGuire and husband Reed; brothers and sisters-in-laws:  Linville Dugger and Sylvia, Dewey Dugger and Ella Mae and Earl Dugger; special brothers-in-laws; Ted Harmon, Opal Cable and Carl Cable; several nieces, nephews and special fishing friends, Shawn and Robert Wills. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Piney Grove Church of Christ with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister  Donnie Cable officiating.  Graveside Service and burial will follow the funeral from the Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be grandsons, Morgan Payne Daniel and Nicholas Dugger, Michael Potter, Bryceon Andrews , Rob Dugger, Earl Dugger and Kenny Payne.  Honorary Pallbearers are:  Opal Cable, Carl Cable, Joe Hyder, Joe Carrier, Jim Bowers and Greg Mathis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help the family with Joseph’s final expense, 224 S. Church St., Mountain City, TN 37683. The family will receive friends at the home, 108 Joe Dugger Ln., Butler, TN 37640. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
