Willliam "Billy" Scott III

William Everett Scott III, “Billy”, age 50, of Creston, NC died peacefully at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Gastonia, NC to William E. Scott Jr and Wilma Arlene Scott. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, William E. Scott Sr., his daddy William E. Scott Jr, his son William E. Scott IV “Wes”, and his maternal grandparents, Troy and Delta Rose. Survivors include his wife, Melissa Scott; mother, Arlene Scott; grandmother, Beulah Scott; children, Holly Scott, Caleb Scott (Stacey); Christian Cox (Brandan); grandchildren, Robert William Hughes IV, Waylon Riley Hughes, Bella Denise Cox; siblings, Shannon Jenkins (Richard), Chad Scott (Christy); nieces, Casi, Brittany, Emma; nephews, David, Chad Jr., and Cody. Billy had very special aunts, uncles, and other family members including the “7” who he loved dearly and spoke of often in his final days. Billy was a kind and gentle soul. He loved deeply and to truly know him was to love him. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, daddy, uncle, pawpaw, and friend. His sense of humor was contagious and he kept his family laughing even in his final days. He will greatly be missed and forever loved. His legacy will live on in his children, grandchildren, and family. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the home, 199 Burnt School House Road, Creston, NC 28615. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the home with Pastor Richard Jenkins to officiate. The burial will follow at Bills Burys Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Scott, David Jenkins, Brandan Cox, Chad Scott Jr, Cody Scott, and Mikel Scott Jr. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com The family of William Everett Scott III has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
