William Roark Sr.

William Daniel Roark Sr., age 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. Danny was born July 2, 1952 to the late John and Mary Roark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William “Boone” Roark Jr.; grandson, Thomas Kelly Hutchins Jr.; sisters, Oma Hardin, Janice Alvarez and brother, Thomas “Toby” Roark. Danny loved camping, fishing, coffee, and truck driving. His biggest legacy was his family. He loved his wife and kids and was the best Papa to his grandkids. Danny was a Christian who loved the Lord and was ready to spend eternity in Heaven with his son. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 50 years, JoAnn Roark; daughters, Joyce Gourley (George), Diane Harmon, Michelle Walker; sons, Freddy Roark (Chyanne), Thomas Hutchins (Tasha); sisters, Mary Winkler, Thelma Gibbs, Rose Baldwin; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and special dog, Jack. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with his son, Thomas Hutchins, officiating.
