William Boyd Barrett

William Boyd Barrett, age 72 of Mooresville, NC, died October 26, 2018.  He was born on July 13, 1946 in Tampa, FL to the late Willie D. and Minnie Pearl Barrett.  He served in the US Army as a medic during the Vietnam War.  He worked in communities in which he lived as a nurse anesthetist for over 40 years.  He was a faithful servant of God that worked as deacon, choir member and youth ministry helper at his beloved Trinity Baptist Church.  He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  His talents were many but none outshined the way he could make the piano sing.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy and siblings, Ray and Richard.  Survivors include his sons, Marcus Craig Barrett and wife Joy of Huntersville, NC and William Tway Barrett and wife Maggie of Mooresville, NC and daughter, Wendy Ketchum and husband James of Charleston, SC, sister, Donna Barrett and grandchildren, Will, Lily, Jack, Noah and Claire.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 221 Ervin Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m.  Monday, October 29, 2018 at the James Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church with burial following at Glennwood Cemetery.
