Wayne Laws

  Wayne Laws, age 90, of Butler, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on May 5, 1928, in Butler, TN, Johnson County, to the late James Laws and Georgia Laws.  In addition to his parents Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Fletcher Laws, a son, Gary Laws, a daughter, JoAnn Laws, and a great-grandson, Raymond ‘Ray’ Laws.   Those who knew him, knows he was a loving man, good to everyone, had friends everywhere he went, was a great cook, was a hardworking man and in over 60 years of work never missed a day’s work.   Wayne was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church and Church was a big part of his life, he loved his Church family and will be truly missed by all who knew him.   Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Kathy Garland and Ronnie Laws and wife Pansy, sisters, Irene Shoun and Rosalee  Eller, grandchildren, Teresa Poore and Walter Jennings, Steve Laws and wife Christie, Missy Taylor and husband Kenneth, Gary Wayne Laws and wife Kim, Daniel Laws and wife Tammy, and Richard Garland, great-grandchildren, Tommy Poore, Savannah Duke and husband Aaron, Chris Laws and wife Johnna, Auburni Swift and husband Daniel, Brittnay Stout and husband Patrick, Amber Taylor, Whitney Harris, Bryson Laws,  and Matt Myers, great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Laws, Landon Poore and Laela Duke, daughter-in-law Wanda Laws, and special friends Jim Phillips, Jean Buchanan, and Tom Poore.   The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at the Dyson Grove Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Leonard Fletcher and Pastor Greg Thompson officiating.  Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fletcher Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Richard Garland, Tommy Poore, Chris Laws, Daniel Laws, Gary Wayne Laws and Daniel Swift. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Phillips, Dr. Floyd Barker and Dr. Khan.   At other times the family will receive friends at the home, 221 Wayne Laws Road, Butler, TN 37640.   Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mountaincityfh.com .
