Walter Reece

Walter Dayton Reece, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Hillview Health Center and Nursing Home of Elizabethton.  He was born on April 11, 1931 to the late Hillery Reece and Ethel Carol Reece.  In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene McQueen Reece; a son, Walter Ricky Reece; sisters, Beulah Allen and Lucille Jenkins and brothers, Claude Reece, Clyde Reece and Herbert Reece.

Walter loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed camping and fishing.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his Church family.

He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Jo Ann Reece of Mountain City; grandchildren, Gary Reece and Gina Meade and husband Jamie; great grandchild, Lucas Reece, all of Mountain City, TN; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service with military rites will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Blevins Cemetery, Shady Valley, TN with Tommy Reece and the Johnson County Honor Guard officiating.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his son, Roger, 129 Poplar Street, Mountain City, TN.
