Virgie Marley

Virgie Irene Pierce Marley, age 84, of Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at her home. She was born March 17, 1941, in Johnson County, Tennessee to Lawrence Dale Pierce and Laura Ruth Lewis Pierce. Virgie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, working in her garden, and just being outdoors. Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Franklin D. Marley; son, Alan Marley; brothers, Lawrence Pierce and Gene Pierce and daughter-in-law, Toni Trent Marley.

She is survived by her son, Timmy Marley; daughter, Elaine Steele; sisters, AnnaLee Lowe, Viva Shufield, Thelma Cooke (Gene), Martha Hayworth; brothers, Kyle Pierce; grandchildren, Amos Marley, Eric Marley, Amy Calo, Noah Wyatt, Adam Wyatt, Sierra Guenther, DJ Shew, Becky Shew; special friend, Cassie Anderson; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Barlow officiating. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 12:30 until 1:30 on Wednesday, prior to the service. Miller Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Matt Labiana, Amos Marley, Matt Guenther, Eric Marley, Kenneth Souther, D.J. Shew and Chris Steele.
