Violet Ray Phillips

Violet Ray Phillips, age 92, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Violet was born on July 27, 1929 to the late Clyde and Susie Courtner. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Phillips; son, Robert Courtner; two sisters and four brothers. Violet dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to take care of all them. She stayed busy with her garden and flowers, and enjoyed canning to preserve the vegetables she raised. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Pansy Laws (Ronnie); son, Edward Courtner (Lestie); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her cat, Tom. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Rock Springs Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. Pallbearers are Allen Courtner, Scotty Courtner, Christopher Laws, Daniel Swift, Clarence Courtner, and Howard Courtner.
