Tresie Ann Johnson Wagner, age 66, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at her home, surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on April 29, 1952 to Eva White Johnson and the late Troy Johnson. In addition to her father, Tresie was preceded in death by brothers, Dwight Johnson and Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd Johnson.

Tresie was a proud farmer and enjoyed working outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening.  She had a special love for animals and loved watching all the wild animals on their farm and surrounding areas, especially the squirrels.

She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Eva Johnson, those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 49 years, Melvel ‘Mel’ Wagner; son and daughter-in-law, Jody Mack Wagner and wife Kala; sisters, Mary Lou Howes, Bonnie Kate Reece and Patty Johnson; brothers, James Dale Johnson, Richard Douglas Johnson, David Wayne Johnson and Anthony Dean Johnson; special friends, Selma Vines and Lisa Greer and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Winters officiating.  Special music will be provided by the Sugar Grove Church Choir.  Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jody Wagner, Andy Johnson, David Johnson, Doug Johnson, Gary ‘Bull’ Campbell and Eddie Reece.  Honorary pallbearers are Dry Run Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Grove Baptist Church, 925 Sugar Grove Church Road, Butler, TN 37640.
