Todd V. Eastin of Shady Valley, TN, checked out of his earth bound experience on January 27, 2026. He achieved 79 solar years and passed with gratitude for the many lessons he learned along the way. Among his experiences and accomplishments were an academic education that began in the State of Iowa public schools and culminated with a bachelors degree in biology from Pricipia College Elsah, IL.It was there he met his wife to be Annlynn Wingold Eastin. Following fulfillment of a two year national service obligation as a conscientious objector, he and Lynn embarked on the rest of their lives together. It was a journey that brought them to Shady Valley where they worked a mountain farm raising Angora goats for over 40 years. He was active in community affairs beginning with the Shady Valley Ruritan Club which he joined in 1974. He held elective office for one term on the Johnson County Commission serving as chairman of the Solid Waste Committee. Eastin served on numerous local non-profit organizations including Johnson County Champion Community and the Johnson County Library Board. He spent several years as a state board member of Common Cause TN, a non-profit advocate for good government, serving as treasurer. Eastin worked as a contract water treatment operator for the USDA Forest Service for 27 years. He was devoted and active member of Christian Science church in Bristol, TN.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by two daughters, Hannah Eastin of Yokosuka, Japan, her wife Cristi Herbert and two grandchildren Eli and Parker and Maryn Taylor of Shady Valley, son-in-law, Nolan Taylor, and two grandchildren Nevin and Ivy Taylor.
