Thomas Gene Kyles

Thomas (Gene) Kyles Jr. age 79 of Mountain City, TN passed on Sunday Spetember 13th, 2026. Gene was born on March 21st 1947 in Statesville, NC to the late Thomas Gene Kyles SR and Eloise Brown Kyles. He was also proceeded in death by his brother, Michael Wayne Kyles.

He is survived my his loving wife Lisa Woolridge Kyles. His children Jennifer Kyles Spencer and her husband Chad Spencer, son Ryan Thomas Kyles. His grandchildren Sydnee Spencer, Kellan Spencer, Harper Spencer and Julian Kyles. His Honorary daughter Kindell Houseright and two Honorary grandchildren Lelynn and Keanon Houseright.

He was a graduate of Appalachian State University with a gegree in philosophy and minor in Psychology. He had a long career as Executive Director in HUD. He was a life long Tarheel fan and never missed a game. He was also a collector of sportscards and memorabilia. Gene was a kind and gental man who loved his chilren, animals and the mountains, where he made his home since 1996. He will be lovingly remebered and cherished by his family, friends and many pets.

A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2026 at the Trade Community Center 228 Modock Rd Trade,TN at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary help with the final cost.
