Suzette Shelton

Connie Suzette Shelton, age 59, passed away Friday evening, October 2, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born February 20, 1967 to J.B. and Nell Shelton.

Suzette was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord and desired to live for Him the best she could. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she shared that love through her beautiful gift of music. Suzette was a talented singer who loved singing at church. She also treasured the memories of singing with her parents and brother as part of a family group. Music was a special part of her life and a way she brought joy to others. Suzette was a hard worker with a heart of gold. She cared deeply for others and was known for her kindness, compassion, and loving spirit. She also had a special love for dogs, bringing that same gentle and caring nature to the animals she cherished. Suzette adored her grandbabies who lovingly called her “Mum”.

Those left to cherish her memories include her parents, J.B. and Nell Shelton; daughter, Kayla Hicks; grandchildren, Colton Johnson and Madelyn Johnson; brother, Jeff Shelton (Karen); niece, Amber Shelton; aunts, Chris and Phyllis; special cousins, Cindy Dolinger (Randy) and Berna Arnold; dear friend, Tabitha Oates.

Suzette’s wish was that no formal service be held. The family respectfully requests no food or flowers, but greatly appreciates your prayers.
