Madeline Sue “Momma Sue” Maze      Madeline Sue “Momma Sue” Maze, age 77, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Mountain City Care Center.  She was born in Johnson County, TN (Neva Community) on April 23, 1942 to the late Joe Farthing and Nettie Neatherly Farthing.  In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Maze, granddaughter, Misty Bright, grandson, Wesley Hamby.   Momma Sue’s hobbies were caring for children, grocery shopping, camping and talking to her best friends on the phone. She loved to be active in Church and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. “MOMMA SUE” will forever be Loved. She touched the lives of everyone that met her and will truly be missed by all.   Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 61 years, John W. Maze, Jr., children; Cheri Bright and husband Mitchell, Chuck Maze and wife Kristy, Kasey Maze, Megan Maze and Dakota Maze, grandchildren; Junie Bright Leonard and husband Mark, Joey Bright, Opal Hamby, Ashleigh Howard and husband Joe, Christopher Maze and wife Amber, Emmitt Mahala and Nevaeh Campbell, great-grandchildren; Steven, Isaac and Jacob Phipps, Hannah and Jake Toney, Conner, Michael, Levi and Sarina Maze, Eleanor Howard, Kayleigh Dunn and Johnny Johnson, great-great-grandchildren; Ashlyn and Corbin Toney and Layla Harper, sister-in-law, Joyce Farthing, special friends, Jackie Warden and Brenda Stout, many special nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service and interment will be Tuesday October 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Brown Cemetery with Pastors David Hankal and Mike Penley officiating. Pallbearers will be Joey Bright, Steven Phipps, Isaac Phipps, Jacob Phipps, Christopher Maze, Joe Howard, Mark Leonard and Jake Toney. Honorary pallbearers are, Roy Hodge, Sam Cress, Joe Barry, John Sanders, Bob Heck and Gary Wayne Laws.   Special Thanks to The Staff and Management of Mountain City Care and Rehab Center for their kindness, compassion and professionalism shown to the family during Sue’s last few days and also special thanks to Betty Shepherd and Kayla Simpson.   The family will receive friends at the home 399 Mill Creek Rd., Mountain City, TN 37683.   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
