Sue Hensley

Sue Hensley, known by many as MiMi, age 79, of Mountain City, Tennessee, slipped peacefully into Heaven on the morning of December 2, 2023. She was born February 23, 1944 in Johnson County, TN to the late R.D. Henson and Texie Forrester Henson. In addition to her parents Sue was preceded in death by her sister Nancy McGlamery, brothers-in law, Freddie Snyder and Cecil McGlamery.

Sue began a career early on at the Johnson County Trustees office working with previous Trustees and then after being elected to the office of Johnson County Trustee she served faithfully until retirement with a total of 47 years.

She loved her flowers, delivering meals on wheels with Johnson County Senior Center for over 30 years along with spending time with her family. Sue was a faithful member of Valley View United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Choir.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 62 years, Jim Hensley, sons, Danny Hensley (Christina), Tim Hensley and Randy Hensley (Melanie), sisters, Brenda Snyder and Jo Henson, brothers, Larry Henson (Susie) and Gary Henson (Kathy), grandchildren, Bethany Patton(Chris), Madison Hensley, Abigail Gaines(Quez), Micaela Hensley, William Hensley, Dominic Hensley, Andrew Hensley(Meghan), Danielle Hensley and Stephanie Hensley; great-grandchildren, Cambron Patton, Maverick Patton, Kora Gaines, Grayson Hensley, Liam Hensley, Jordan Burgess, Katey Marshall and Levi Hensley, special friend and sister at heart, Betty Sue Hayworth, several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 4, 2023 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday December 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home with Randy Hensley, Anna Gennrich and Josh Giddings officiating, music will be by grandchildren, B., Madi, Abi, Micaela Grace and William; pallbearers will be Chris Patton, Andrew Hensley, William Hensley, Jordan Burgess, Kevin Hayworth and Steve Marshall; honorary pallbearers are Larry Henson, Gary Henson, David McGlamery, Grayson Hensley, Danny Cullop, Todd Grayson, Tom Fortune, Dick Grayson and the Middle Adult Sunday School class of Valley View UMC, graveside service and burial will follow from the Wilson Cemetery.
