Stella Rose Tester

Stella Rose Tester, age 84, of Mountain City, TN, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, May 16, 2026 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Stella Rose was born April 14, 1942 in Johnson County, (Shouns), TN, to the late George Brown and Alice Potter Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hoover Tester and siblings, Grace Eggers, Gladys Arnold, Hazel Roark, Verna Mae Woodard, Claude Brown, and Bruce Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory include her special nephew, Raymond Woodard (Joni); special cousin, Helen Hammons (Richard); several nieces, nephews and cousins; her beloved Fidelis Sunday school class and church family at First Baptist Church and the many special ones she called and stayed in contact with every day by phone.

Graveside service for Stella Rose will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday May 19, 2026 from Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class
