Scottie Ray Roberts, age 44, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 following a lengthy illness with Crohn’s Disease.   He was born on January 26, 1974 to the late Elmer Ray Roberts and Farelene ‘Abby’ Honeycutt Roberts. Scottie was a wonderful, kind hearted man with a Big Heart. He loved life and everyone in it.  He never met a stranger and loved to travel to places just to talk and visit with people.  Scottie loved music and was a gifted guitar player and could play many other instruments.  He loved good food, cooking and was ‘King’ of smoked BBQ.  He enjoyed target shooting on holidays with friends and family and could repair anything.   Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Cindy Wilson Roberts, daughters, Kristen Roberts, Casey Harris and husband Jeremiah and, grandchildren, Bentley Harris, Finn Harris and Evan Roberts, step-mother, Dorothy Roberts, mother-in-law, Judy Wilson, brother-in-law, Mike Wilson and wife Mary Ann. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Morefield officiating.  Eulogy will be given by family and friends.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Lower Beaver Dam Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Roy Roach, Greg Reese, Gary Johnson, Bart Epperly, Sonny Roberts, Larry Stout.  Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jim Shine, Tony Haley, Kathleen Reece, Rafter H. Construction-Alan and Crew. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Scottie’s memory to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center PO Box1245 Albert Lea, MN 56007-9976 or online at www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org. At other times the family will receive friends at the home, 616 Cedar Street, Mountain City, TN.
