A mother to many, the one to lean on when you can’t find the strength; The one to pick you up when you can’t stand on your own; the wind beneath our wings to always encourage us to fly higher. She was a proud Lioness, always ready to stand and fight to defend her pride. A brave pioneer that journeyed into the forest and made it a home. She made her community better; her tribe stronger; everywhere she walked, a dance floor; every gathering, a celebration and she made the world a more beautiful place simply because she was in it. A fierce mountain momma in sweet southern belle shell. The treasured only child of Burlin and Dot Chitwood; the proud mother of her sons Wes, Joshua, Adam, Jesse, and Daniel; the dedicated grandmama to Sydney, Ciara, Kaylee, Lily, Liam, and Sophia and Loved by all who witnessed her light. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday January 18th at the Watauga Lake Winery from 12pm-4pm. In Lieu of flowers, her family has requested a donation be made to our local Hospice in thanks for their care and compassion, or a donation to the Watauga Watershed Alliance, an organization close to Sandi’s Heart that benefits our community. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mountaincityfh.com . The family of Sandra Cranford has entrusted her care to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church St., Mountain City, TN 37683.
