Roger Simcox, age 77, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Sycamore Shoal Hospital. He was born in Bristol, Tennessee on February 17, 1947 to the late Offie Garfield Simcox and Ruth Snyder Simcox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, two half sisters and eight half brothers.

 

Roger enjoyed working on motorcycles and cars. He was a hard worker and always felt like there was something that needed to be done.

 

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters, Robin Pickel and husband Clyde, and Sandra Rogers and husband Darrin; sons, Roger Simcox and wife Melissa, and Jason Simcox and his mother Robin Chandler; brothers, Bobby Simcox and Vernon Simcox; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; special friends, Don Harless and Pete Nichols; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow from the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Simcox, Wesley Simcox, Samuel Pickel, Vernon Simcox, Bobby Simcox, Daniel Morley, Clyde Pickel, and Brian Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Darrin Rogers and Pete Nichols.
