Robert “Bob” Marshall Phillips, age 75, passed away in Anchorage, Alaska on September 22, 2024. He was born in Johnson County, TN on January 31, 1949 to the late George Marshall Phillips (1983) and Margaret Lee Blevins Phillips (2025). He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Phillips; grandparents, Robert W. Blevins and Gay Victoria Neely Blevins, Jordon Phillips and Bonnie Phillips Watson; aunts, Mary Hill, Hazel Hutchinson, Dorothy Ritchie, Katherine Blevins, Nell Pope, Annie Wallace; uncles, James “Jim” Blevins, Ed Phillips, Clarence “C.J.” Phillips, Herman Watson, Elbert Watson, A.J. Hill, Bill Smith, Bill Hutchinson; cousin, Pat Hill; sister-in-law, Candy Simons Phillips; several cousins and friends.

Bob lived in Shady Valley, TN for several years, but he mostly lived in Nome, Alaska. He was a correctional sergeant in the Nome, Alaska prison where he served many years until his retirement. Bob was a hard worker and very caring person. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing for Alaska salmon. He collected guns and old coins. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Judy Phillips Sluder and husband David Sluder; brothers, James “Jim” Phillips, Timothy “Tim” Phillips, Daniel “Danny” Phillips and wife Tammy Phillips; nephew, Wesston Lee Sluder; aunt, Frances Smith.
