Robert "Blaine" Thomas

Robert “Blaine” Thomas, age 81, passed away on September 27, 2021 at Watauga Medical Center. Blaine was born in Watauga County, NC on October 9, 1939 to the late Sherman C. Thomas and Ruby Wallace Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Keith Thomas. Blaine was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked hard most of his life at Sealed Air Corp. in Lenoir, NC. Upon retiring they hitched up their camper to travel staying in Texas during the winter, then traveling back to their beloved Backbone Rock to be camp host for many years. Blaine never met a stranger, meeting NFL coaches to generals, he treated everyone the same. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Geraldine Perry Thomas; daughters, Donna T. Greer (Charles), Penny T. Reid (Clinton), Brenda T. Coffey (Buddy), Pamela Thomas, Dawn T. Cline; brothers, Ted Thomas, Marlin Thomas, Lynn Thomas; grandchildren, Justin, Hannah, Josh, Emily, Jessica, Dylan; great grandchildren, Lyla, Katherine, Leo, Nadia; several nieces and nephews. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Trade Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Derrick Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
