Richard Clyde "RC" Woods

Richard Clyde Woods “R.C.” was born on June 21, 1944, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 31, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

R.C. was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Mountain City for many years but attended Corinth Baptist Church of Laurel Bloomery. He was a Godly man who loved and served the Lord. He enjoyed tinkering with old vehicles and going to car shows. He was a funny and quick-witted man and was making his loved ones laugh even until the end. He loved his family, especially the little ones.

R.C. was preceeded in death by his father, Ham Snyder; his mother, Emmaline Woods; brothers, Robert Snyder and wife Mae, Hobert Snyder, Warren Snyder, and infant brother, Everett Snyder.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Horne Woods; son, Scott Woods (Cheryl) and daughter Lisa Gentry (Vance); grandchildren, Nathaniel Yates (Jacqueline), Kayla Price, Hannah Hughes (Tyerell) and Ethan Woods; great grandchildren, Skylar Yates, Liam Price, Ezra Price, and baby Emaline Hughes (due March 2024). He is also survived by a brother, Lewis Snyder, of Winchester, VA; sisters, Leola Joyner, of Huntsville AL, Helen Wroten of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks for all the love, kindness and help from Debbie Roark.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Morefield and Greg Poe officiating, the funeral service will follow. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at Phillippi Cemetery with Tyerell Hughes officiating. Pallbearers are Nathaniel Yates, Ethan Woods, Skylar Yates, Liam Price, Terry Hughes, Hurley Guinn, Brad Rawls, and Eric Farrow. Honorary Pallbearers are Rhonda Reece, Lee L Roark, Bernard Johnson, Frankie Salyer, Charles Crosswhite, Tommy Roark, and Danny Cornett.

At other times, friends and family may visit the home.
