Randy Elmore, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2022. Randy was born on May 9, 1974 to the late Billy and Carolyn Elmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Conard Denton and Helen Kerr Denton; paternal grandfather, John Henry Whitehead; and uncle, Dale Denton. Randy loved the mountains and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially with his children. He enjoyed drawing, listening to music, and tinkering with all kinds of different things. Randy had the gift of gab and loved to talk. He loved his family and always had a soft spot for kids. He will also be remembered as being very caring and compassionate toward anyone in need. Survivors include his loving partner of 18 years, Carrie Blackburn and their children; daughter, Darien Elmore; son, Warren Hampton; aunts, Deborah Robinson and husband, Ronnie of Knoxville, TN and Brenda Denton of Sanford, KY; uncle, Dwight Denton and wife, Robin of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Kelly Vaughn; brother-in-law and special friend, Eric Blackburn and wife, Pam; nephews, Dakota Swiney, Brandon Blackburn, Ethan Blackburn, and Connor Dugger; niece and ride-or-die friend, Erika Blackburn and Kendra Vaughn; a very special young man, Evan Hutchison who made Uncle Randy great; special friends, Goonie-Michael Laws, Bryan Bryant, Scott Tester, Kaylon Sutherland, and Austin Roark. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Berry Dunn officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to assist with funeral expenses or to the futures of Randy’s children.
