Ralph Morefield

Ralph Morefield, age 71, of Sugar Creek Rd., Laurel Bloomery, TN; passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023 at his home.  Ralph was born January 23, 1952 in Johnson County, TN to the late Marvin Morefield and Effie Greer Morefield. In addition to his parents Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Gentry, brothers, Johnny, Charles, Jack and Roger Morefield.

Those who knew him best can attest to his love for farming and being a tobacco grower. Ralph enjoyed being with family and especially riding his grandkids on the tractor and then teaching them how to drive the tractor. He was a member of Stateline Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 43 years, Sheila Pennington Morefield; daughters, Julie Chestnut and husband David, Nicole Mosley and husband Tony; sons, Chris Summerow and girlfriend Rebecca Widener and Tony Summerow and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Tierra Ward, Corey Summerow, Haley Yarber and husband Tyler, Krista Summerow, Olivia Summerow, Nathanel Summerow, Hope Yarber, Marrisa Summerow, Aleena Summerow, Payton Grizzle, Kashania Summerow and Zendaya Summerow; one great grandchild, River Randall Yarber; mother-in-law, Mary Pennington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Morefield, Teresa Slone and husband John, Randy Pennington  an wife Teresa, Marty Pennington and wife Amy, Blaine Pennington; niece, Effie Mink and husband Doug; nephew, Wayne Gentry; several cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends at Mountain City Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. with memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Preacher Bill Morefield officiating.
