Rachel Isabell McKenzie

Rachel Isabell McKenzie, age 87, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Grace Healthcare of Abingdon.  She was born on May 21, 1931 to the late Charles and Melvina Parker Blevins.  In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by a husband William McKenzie, son, Charles Michael Stout, sister, Janet Coyne and brothers, Gomer Blevins and Emory Blevins. She was a member of the Taylors Valley Church of the Brethren.    Those left to cherish her memories include her son, William McKenzie and girlfriend Heather McDaries, sister, Doris Rupard and husband Hoover, brother, Paul Blevins and wife Marsha, sister-in-law, JoAnne Blevins, grandchildren, Michael Stout and Matthew Stout and wife Alana, great grandchild, Caroline Stout, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Taylors Valley Church of the Brethren.  Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Fred Parker and Martha Roudebush officiating.  Music will be provided by Janice Gaither.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Jackson-Lewis Cemetery in Taylors Valley.  Grandsons, Michael Stout and Matthew Stout along with nephews, cousins and other family will serve as pallbearers.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com The family of Rachel Isabell McKenzie has entrusted her services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
