Peggy Phillips

Peggy Marie Phillips, age 82, passed away December 28, 2023. She was born April 1, 1941 in Saltville, VA, to the late George Washington Stout and Dora Ellen Stout. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Phillips; son, Bubby Allen Phillips; granddaughter, Danielle Roark; and great grandson, Ja’Kari Phillips.

Peggy “Maw-Maw” was a homemaker and a great mom and grandma. She had a strong passion for books and was a volunteer with her special friend, Linda Icenhour at Johnson County Public Library for many years. She was also a substitute teacher for the Johnson County School System. She helped raise all her grandkids and was well known for never meeting a stranger. She would help you in any way she could and was so very well loved by her family.

Those left to cherish her memories include her sons, Tim Phillips (Lisa), Jeffery Carpenter, and Mike Phillips; daughters, Tammy Wilson and Cathy Phillips (Belinda); grandchildren, Mindy Church (Johnny), Brittany Wilson (Krysten), Rio Phillips, Leea Phillips, Cheyenne Roush (Adam), Dalton Roark (Cassie), Trey Worley; great grandchildren, Adrieanna Ray (Jacob), Nate, Bentley; Kyilie; Gary-Wayne, Leo, Colton, Elliot, Quinn and Brookes Worley; great great grandchildren, Kendel and Wyatt Ray.

Per Peggy’s wishes no services will be held.
