Nora Ethel Blevins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on October 2, 2025 at the age of 90. She was a dedicated Christian and member of Shady Valley Baptist Church.

Nora Ethel cherished 71 years of marriage to her life-long love, Lillard Blevins. They married on April 23, 1954 after meeting in their childhood hometown of Shady Valley, TN where they also later retired. Nora was known for her kind and caring heart, energy, and creativity which were displayed in innumerable ways. She was an exceptional cook and kept a beautiful and inviting home. Nora’s creativity was also manifested through gardening, sewing, and rock painting. She enjoyed growing and picking flowers. She made many beautiful silk wreaths and flower arrangements for her church. Nora also contributed to her church by assisting in leading hymns, preparing meals, and working with children. She leaves a legacy of unselfish service to her family, church, and community. Her children lovingly knew her as “the energizer bunny” for her boundless energy.

Nora Ethel loved Jesus and loved her family. Born in Abingdon, VA, she was one of Fannie and George Love’s ten children. She leaves behind her husband, Lillard Blevins; daughter, Pamela Bierworth (Glen); son, David Blevins; daughter-in-law, Beth Blevins (Jeff deceased); son, Bruce Blevins (Wendy); grandchildren: Christie Vasquez (Jason); Paul Bierworth (Madeline Moncla); Olivia Bierworth (Micah Armstong); Jacob Blevins; Keren Bierworth; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Evie Vasquez, and Laurel Armstrong. She also leaves behind many extended family members including her siblings, Danford Love, John (Betty) Love, and Mildred Keller.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Shady Valley Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 A.M. with Richard Stout officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens.

Donations in Nora Ethel’s honor may be made to Breakthrough T1D, formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
