Monica Lisa Butner

Monica Lisa Butner, 58, of Hurdle Mills, died on Monday, July 7, 2025. Born in Orange county. She was the daughter of the late Robert Borden Butner and Naomi Wilcox Butner. In addition to both parents she was preceded in death by her younger sister Shannon Britt. She was a Caregiver for a good part of her working life. She helped Alzheimer's and Dementia residents 3rd shift. She was both selfless and spontaneous in life. She loved her family, dogs, to cook, eat, frogs and listening to music. She also thoroughly enjoyed as a child going ice skating at the Daniel Boone Ice Rink in Hillsborough, NC.

Monica Lisa Butner is survived by her son, Daylon Duane Duke (Daylon) and his father, David Duke; her brother, Duane Butner (Darlene); several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held 5PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at New Life Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Whitt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service with a potluck supper in the fellowship hall for those who would like to join us.
