Mickey Wood

Mickey Wood, age 84, passed away May 5, 2026 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mickey was born November 26, 1941. She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Holman and one brother.

Mickey loved helping people and took care of many patients during her 35 year career working as a CNA at Mountain City Care Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed her flowers and collecting angels. She also liked spending time listening to the Bible. Mickey was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Shawn Roten (Janice), Ricky Hamm (Summer) and Troy Hamm (Tami); special friends, Chasity Simpson, Merle, Sandy Holman and Tammy Warren; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Preacher Bill Morefield and Preacher Darrell Graybeal officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Farmer Cemetery in Creston, NC. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
