Elizabeth “Michelle” Atwood, age 47, of Henderson, Nevada and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on October 25, 2020 at her home, due to a battle of pancreatic cancer. Michelle was born on January 25, 1973 in Abingdon, Virginia to Ruby Grace Gentry and the late Robert Chelsie Gentry. She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Mountain City. She was a 1991 graduate of JCHS and graduate of ETSU, BA of nursing program. She worked for Amedysis Home Health and Johnson County Home Health throughout her nursing career. She enjoyed the opportunity to help others in their time of need. Michelle was outgoing and someone who made friends wherever she went. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her fiancé Jeff Dellinger; sisters, Patty Trivette and husband Darrell, Kathy McCulloch and husband Robbie; brother, Nicky Gentry all of Laurel Bloomery; nieces, Chelsea and Katie McCulloch; nephews, Travis and Timmy Gentry; her former husband Mike Atwood; special cousin, Sylvia Hazelwood and many friends. A memorial service for Michelle Atwood will be conducted Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 421 West Main Street, Mountain City, TN 37683. Officiating will be Pastor Sammy Icenhour and eulogies by Chelsea McCulloch, Angela Webb, Sara Reece Helmardollar, and Susan Vincill Pardue. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 prior to the service. Please observe COVID-19 precautions. A parking lot radio service will be available for those that wish to remain in their vehicles. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N. , Mountain City TN 37683. The family has entrusted her services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
