Mary Shore

Mary Shore, age 98, passed away January 7, 2026. Mary was born May 13, 1927 to the late C.W. and Minnie Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Shore; sister, Irene Wilson; brother, Homer Powell and son-in-law, Charlie Bowman.

Mary loved being at home and enjoyed taking care of it. She was known for her sense of style and her wonderful cooking. She was member of the Red Hat Society and Beta-Theta. She also liked attending the Johnson County Senior Center to exercise and play bingo. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Becky Bowman, Lisa Crawford; son, Bill Shore Jr. and wife Carole; grandchildren, Michele Lane (Richard), Brian Shore (Kristen), Sarah Sutherland (Matthew), Chelsea Minch; great grandchildren, Ella, Carys, and Brodie Lane, Harry, Hazel and Hawk Shore, Tristan Potter, Leon Sutherland, and Fox Minch.

The service for Mary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church.
