Mary Louise Henry, age 90, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at her home. She was born March 28, 1936 in Creston, NC to the late Roby and Julie Roark. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Charles Henry; her son, Kelly Henry; sisters, Ozel Shelton, Opal Shelton, and Virgie Self; and brothers, Ed Roark, Arlis Roark, Ralph Roark, Clarence Roark, and Joe Roark.
Louise was a truly caring soul whose sweet personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She held a deep and steadfast faith in the Lord, which was a guiding light throughout her life. A devoted member of the Little Laurel House of Prayer, Louise found strength and community in her spiritual home. Her favorite moments were often spent lost in the pages of a good book, as reading was a cherished pastime. Louise also had a special love for collecting lamps and dolls, treasures that reflected her gentle and nurturing spirit. She delighted in the challenge of crossword puzzles, a quiet joy that kept her mind engaged. In remembering Louise, we celebrate a life full of kindness, faith, and simple pleasures that touched the hearts of many.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jerry Henry and wife Rita, Randy Henry, and Bryan Henry; daughter, Tammy Sizemore; daughter-in-law, Jenny Henry; sister, Shelby Jean Branson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor James Henson and Brother J.B. Shelton officiating. The graveside service and burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, NC. Pallbearers will be grandsons, family, and friends.
