Mary Barlow

Mary Juanita Wilson Barlow, beloved wife, mother, granny, neighbor and ultimate care giver, died on August 21, 2021. Mary worked for 22 years for the Chester County School System as an Instructional Assistant and Transportation Provider. In her retirement years she was a “Granny Nanny” to many families. Mary was born in Ashe Co. NC to Oscar Thomas Wilson and Olive Lela Kilby Wilson on November 30, 1925. She was married to Dean Emmett Barlow for 30 years until his death in 1977. Their children are Peggy Sue Huber (Tom), Franklin Wayne Barlow (Betsy), John Thomas Barlow (Betty), Ronald Dean Barlow (Georgette) and Roxanne Sheets (Donald). There are 11 surviving grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. As a faithful member of Kennett First Baptist Church, Mary lived the finest example of a Christian. Her philosophy was, “I’ll treat everyone the best I can and I’ll never have to feel guilty about anything.” She accomplished her goal. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Sutherland United Methodist Church (Creston, NC) at 1:00 P.M..
