Mark Allen Hoosier

Mark Allen Hoosier, age 43, of West Jefferson, North Carolina, passed away on May 14, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center.  He was born on June 24, 1975 to Brenda Day Hovermale and the late Jerry Hoosier.  In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, who helped raise Mark, Iva Lee and Clifford Hoosier.

Mark was currently self-employed, working as a mechanic.  He was a former employee of Wal-Mart, where he worked for many years.  He was an avid car enthusiast. 

Mark was thrilled when he and Traci had their son, Jacob.  Jacob was the light of his life and Mark was a wonderful father who loved his family very much.

He attended Big Laurel Church of Christ and Christian Union.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Traci Hoosier; son, Jacob Hoosier; mother, Brenda Hovermale; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Big Laurel Church of Christ and Christian Union. Funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Graybeal officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Calhoun Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Hoosier, Tim Osborne, Mike Roten, Charles Price, Joe Francis and Dennis Miller.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home, 139 Kemp Dr., West Jefferson, NC.
