Kevin “Mark” Buchanan

Kevin “Mark” Buchanan, age 55, passed away August 16, 2026. Mark was born September 11, 1970 to the late Marylou Betty Buchanan. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Alexis Buchanan; grandparents, Dana and Jestie Buchanan.

Mark was a hard worker and liked riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Janet Bunting Buchanan; son, Hunter Buchanan; sister, Jackie Neatherly and friend Dennis Price; grandchild, Emarie and Peyton Buchanan and their grandmother, Lorie Hensley; niece, Silva Nicole Fritts; nephews, John Brandon Fritts, Daniel Neatherly; great nieces and great nephews, Natalie Oliver, Alissa and Brandon Fritts; step-children, Andrew Hensley and Danielle Hensley; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Bill Morefield officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Bennett, Bo Taylor, Dennis Price, Daniel Neatherly, and John Fritts. Honorary pallbearer is Timothy Smith.
