Lorraine Varnadore

Georgia Lorraine Austin Varnadore, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her home. She was born January 19, 1942 to the late Walter and Opal Austin. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Austin; grandson, Wesley Hamby and great-grandson, Austin Matheson.

Lorraine was a retired nurse. She was a wonderful mother who adored her family. She enjoyed being outside, working in her flower gardens, and loved her dog, Duke, and her cat, Sammy. Lorraine was a lifelong member of Pleasant View Christian Church and loved her church family.

Those left to cherish her memories include her brother, Mike Austin; children, J.L. Hamby (Lynne), Nancy Matheson Eller, Robin Joyce (Mike); grandchildren, Jason Matheson, Christian Matheson, Opal Hamby, Jadie Matheson (Kim), and Chelsea Matheson; great-grandchildren, Allen (Maddie), Avery, Addison, Noah, Kayleigh, and Johnny; great great-grandchildren, Paisley, Elaina, and Lincoln; special friends, Janie Lipford, Pat Stout, Bonnie Lewis and Lois McElyea.

It was Lorraine’s wish to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held.
