Loretta Stout

“ If there was an angel, Loretta was it. Larry Allen” Loretta Brookshire Stout, age 101, of Mountain City, TN passed away on Friday evening, January 21, 2022 at Life Care in Elizabethton, TN. She was born in Johnson County on September 17, 1920 to R. Jack Brookshire and Mary Kate Wilson Brookshire. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her stepfather, E.E. Stout. Also two sons, Jimmy C, Stout and Shelburn D. Stout; and her brother, Clarence Pierce; sister, Edna Buchanan. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, also a long time member of the F.C.E club of Doe Valley. She loved flowers and animals, but most of all loved people. Loretta worked as a nurse assistant, most of her life was spent taking care of elderly people or someone in need. She had many, many special friends. Those left to cherish her memories include, her caretaker for 25 years, Larry Allen; nephews, Terry Buchanan, Jack Buchanan, Jerry Buchanan and wife Betty, Justin Buchanan(Deceased) and wife Joan; niece, Leona Warren. Graveside service and burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Brookshire Cemetery with Pastor Gale Hartley to officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
