Loretta Shank

Loretta Lynn Wolfe Shank, age 70 of Mountain City, passed away July 8, 2025. She was born May 16, 1955 in Meadowview, VA, to the late John Graybeal Wolfe, Sr. and Gracie Wolfe Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elijah, Dave and Jeff Wolfe and the father of her children, Douglas “Doc” Blackburn.

Loretta was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Any time spent with her family just sitting and talking was her favorite. She had a heart of gold and always put others first. Loretta was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Terry Shank; son, Greg Blackburn (Sherry); daughters, Priscilla Blackburn, Deidre Blackburn; brother, Tim Wolfe (Kerry); several brothers and sisters-in-law that she was very close to; her precious grandchildren who she adored, Mehgan (Garrett), Matthew (Jessica), Hannah (Will), Caleb (Alysta), Zeke, Danica; great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor, Cooper, Clay; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Blackburn officiating. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow the funeral at Widener Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Shank, Matthew Blackburn, Caleb Blackburn, Garrett Cook, Will Russell, and Zeke Hensley.
