Lois Sluder

Lois Elaine Sluder, age 78, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born August 20, 1948 to the late Will and Vernie Stout. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Alvin “Ab” Sluder and Brother, Leslie Stout.

Lois was a loving and kind lady who had never met a stranger. She loved the Lord and always put Him first in her life. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Debbie Dixon (David); son, William Sluder (Anita); sister, Fay Woods; brother, Burl Stout; grandson, Wesley Dixon; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jim Furches officiating. A private family burial will immediately follow. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
