Linda Thomson

Linda Thomson, age 75, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Linda was born on September 2, 1947 to the late Edmond and Edith Jones. In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband John William Thomson, Jr. on July 31, 2021.

Linda enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor and she was a talented quilter. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC and after retiring in Mountain City attended Nelson’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Lisa Hackett (Tyler); son, Scott Thomson; brother, Glenn Jones (Sue) and Terry Jones (Lisa); sister, Hilda Shupe (David); grandchildren, Johnroger Hackett, Carson Hackett, Jasmine Hackett, and Ava Thomson as well as Hunter Hackett and Hannah Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Nelson’s Chapel Baptist Church in Mountain City, TN at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike McNutt officiating. A visitation will immediately follow. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Stoney Point Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Duncan Edge officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 prior to the service.
