Linda Arnold

Linda Mullins Arnold, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother entered into Heaven on October 9, 2025 at the age of 73. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.

Linda was born on May 29, 1952 to the late Ron and Madora Mullins of Butler, TN. She was married for 53 years to the love of her life, James Arnold, until his passing in 2021. Linda was a wonderful mother to Steve and was very proud of his accomplishments. Her greatest joy came from her granddaughters, Sarah and Shawna Arnold. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her girls and very much enjoyed shopping and taking trips with them. Linda was an exceptional cook, loved to garden, and always had a beautifully kept home. She enjoyed giving back to her church, especially anything to help the youth of the church.

Linda was born sixth of ten children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William James Arnold; and brothers, Jack Mullins, Ricky Mullins, and Ronnie Mullins.

Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Steve Arnold and wife Sherry of Butler, TN; granddaughters, Sarah Arnold and Shawna Arnold of Johnson City, TN; special dog, Sawyer; sisters, Jewel Mink (Jay) of Mountain City, TN; Joyce Cannon of Lincolnton, NC: Janice Harper of Elizabethton, TN; and Debbie Cook (Ralph) of Morganton, NC; brothers, Larry Mullins of Mountain City, TN and Darrell Mullins of Butler, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews; Pastor Greg Poe and Mike Fritts who checked on Linda weekly since her husband’s passing; and her church family.

The family will receive friends on Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18, 2025 at Linda’s home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025 in the chapel at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Poe officiating.

Linda will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City. Pallbearers will are Danny Hubbard, Wayne South, Chris Mullins, Clifton Worley, Josh Taylor, and John Ratliff. Honorary pallbearers are Hearley Guinn, Mike Fritts, Tommy Trivette, Ricky Trivette, Tim Taylor, Michael Mullins, John Robinson, Lynn Campbell and Pierce Vaught.
