Lee “Bump” Farley, age 33, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Lee was born on October 30, 1987 to the late Richard and Lois Farley. Lee was well known throughout his community as a very loving and compassionate man. During his time as a teacher, he became very close to all the kids in the school system. Lee was also a member of the Second District Fire Department and served as Deputy Sheriff for Johnson County Sheriff’s Department for many years. He always wanted to help people in any way he could and would ask everyone “How are you?” and he genuinely wanted to know. Lee also enjoyed video games, comic books, and music. He loved God and preached his own funeral by the life he led. He attended Locust Gap Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Megan Farley; sister, Leah Cornett and husband Chris; Grandma and Grandpa Farley; Mamaw May; nephews, Braden Cornett and Levi who lovingly called him Uncle LeeLee; niece, Cristen Cornett; great niece, Claira Davis; special friends, Mark Gladden, David Quave, Michael Murphy, Chad Guinn; mother-in-law, Tracy Cobb and husband Robert; father-in-law, David Pardue and wife Donna; sister-in-law, Ashley Parsons and husband John; sister-in-law, Delaney; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers in life. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with speakers, Ben May, Michael Murphy, and Warren May. Honorary pallbearers are the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and the Second District Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second District Fire Department or the Johnson County Cancer Support Group c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, TN 37683. The family would like to thank Dr. Tumkur and staff, Dr. Welch and staff, and the Johnson County EMS and officers.
