Larry K. Eggers

Larry Keith Eggers, age 54, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on October 2, 2018 at the Watauga Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Boone, North Carolina to Joyce Ann Jenkins Eggers and the late Claude Eggers on December 25, 1963.  In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Carl Eggers and grandparents, Roy and Nina Jenkins and Carl and Dora Eggers. 

Larry owned and operated his own trackhoe and dozer business since 1992.  He loved working for himself and took great pride in his work.  He loved being outdoors.  When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed riding his Harley, riding four-wheelers with family and friends, deer hunting and looking for arrowheads.  He was also a gifted musician and his favorite music to play was gospel.  Larry loved to laugh and loved to make people laugh telling jokes and cutting up.  More than anything, he loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them. 

Those left to cherish his memories include his mom, Ann Eggers; children, Lori Faircloth and husband Lester and Matt Eggers and wife Sky; girlfriend, Gloria Horne; sister, Joni Wilcox and fiancé Raymond Woodard, brother, Gary Eggers and wife Kim, grandchildren, Dade Eggers, Darren Eggers, Lexie Faircloth, Leanna Faircloth and Shawn Swank; special dog, Chloe; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Leon Bryant officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral at the Eggers Family Cemetery located on Larry’s property.  Pallbearers are Eric Trivette, Gary Eggers, Lester Faircloth, Junior Earp, Blaine Hodges, Sam Tester, Randy Cornett, Larry Dunn and Robert Stanton.  Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his son, Matt Eggers, 392 Preserve Way, Mountain City, TN or the home of his mom, Ann Eggers, 1054 Eggers Branch Road, Trade, TN.
