Larry E. Cardwell Larry E. Cardwell, age 80 of Mountain City, TN passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 12, 1942 in Carter County, TN to the late Abb Blevins and Ada Blevins. Larry enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and westerns. He loved his family very much. Larry served in the Army during the Vietnam War and later retired. He was a member of Bunkerhill Christian Church. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 49 years, Diane McGlamery Cardwell; daughters, Lajonya Hopkins and husband Roger and Kim Mejia and husband Lisandro Mejia; son, Donnie Cardwell and canine “Bubba”; grandchildren, Rio Phillips, Leea Phillips, Lisandra Mejia, Alyssa Mejia, Donnie Lee Cardwell, and Amy Paisley; great grandchildren, LaKaya Paisley, Hunter Paisley, Jayden, Rayleigh and Addie Cardwell; special friends, Muddobber, Gunsmoke, Groundhog, and Ted Thomas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Pastor Frank Johnson to officiate. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Lisandro Mejia, Adam Campbell, Isaac Campbell, Briar Jones, and Roger Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Cardwell, Juan Mejia, and Baldomero Licona. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. At other times friends may call at the home, 356 Collins Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for the care they provided for Larry.
