Kenneth McQueen

Kenneth Raye McQueen, age 66, passed away on December 1, 2021 at his home. Kenneth was born on September 13, 1955 to the late Bradford and Lillie McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Archie James Garland Jr., Richard Lynn Garland and nephew, B.J. Snyder. Kenny was a huge sports fan and always cheered for the Tennessee Vols. He loved joking around with people and always had a good time. He was always friendly to everyone he met and had never met a stranger. He was also a great and loving uncle. Those left to cherish his memories include his siblings, June Bagi, Gene Garland, Kathy Perkins; Tyler Hall and sons Axel and Jase, who he loved like his own son; fiancé, Leslie Hall; nieces, Heather Johnson and husband Jason, Christy Reece and husband Bruce, Ally Eller and husband Josh and son Jax; nephew, Bruce Reece Jr.; Sara and Ryan Perkins of California and several other nieces and nephews in Florida and North Carolina and his bestest bestest buddy, Charlie his dog. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Harvey White and Pastor John Hammett officiating. The graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, 2708 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN. Pallbearers will be Gene Garland, Jason Johnson, Bruce Reece Sr., Bruce Reece Jr., Josh Eller, and Tyler Hall. Special thanks to Kenny’s surgeons at UT Medical Center for all their care, compassion and support to Kenny, Dr. Stefanos Boukovalas and Lindsey and Dr. Andrew J. Russ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, (stjude.org/donate).
