Kenneth Blevins

Kenneth Aaron Blevins, age 91, known to many in Shady Valley as “Snag,” passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026 at his home. He was born June 15, 1935 to the late Wheeler and Edna Mae Blevins. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Blevins; siblings, Pervis “Blackie” Blevins, Emory Blevins and Lillard Blevins..

Kenneth was a graduate of Johnson County High School and later served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. from 1957-1960. He worked as an engineer at Raytheon, where he retired after nearly 30 years of service. Kenneth had a deep appreciation of the mountains he called home and enjoyed hiking and exploring. He loved Shady Valley and the peace and beauty it offered. He had a special place there, that he lovingly called “God’s Carpet.” He attended Holston Baptist Church in Bluff City.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Cher DeMeza (Joel) and Aaron Blevins (Pam); grandchildren, Josh Blevins (Makayla), Haley Blevins, Tyler Blevins (Misty), Leo DeMeza, Ava DeMeza, Katie Smith and bonus grandchild, Marcie Ward; siblings, Elmo Blevins, Ethan Blevins (Connie), Betty Plummer, Reba Tillery (John), Judy Tucker, Joseph Blevins (Jan), and Naomi Hammons; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Shady Valley Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Scott Knight and Rick Shaver officiating. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow from Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holston’s Chosen Youth Group at Holston Baptist Church, 275 Old Weaver Pike, Bluff City, TN, 37618.
