Kathy Garland

Kathy Lynn Garland, age 65, passed away peacefully at Johnson City Medical Center June 16, 2026. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Wayne and Ola Mae Laws; sister, Jo Ann Laws; brother, Gary Laws and nephews, Daniel Laws and Raymond Laws.

Kathy is survived by her son, whom she loved and adored and talked about every time you were around her, Richard Garland. You were her heart and her true being. Kathy is also survived by many nieces and nephews, not that she had any one favorite but Steve Laws (Christie) was like her second son. Kathy wore the phone out talking to him. She held a special place in her heart for him too. Kathy is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Laws (Pansey).

Kathy loved working in her flowers and loved her little dog, Ozzy and her cats, Stormy and Patches. She always had to make sure the hummingbirds had their feeder ready too. Kathy loved going to yard sales and buying what we all thought was junk but she said it was treasure and would get mad if you called it junk. She could always turn that junk into something beautiful. Kathy was also known for making the best cheeseball, cornbread and Christmas candy than anybody around. Kathy will be missed in the holler she has lived in her whole life. We love you!

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Fletcher Cemetery.
