Karen Johnson

Karen Jean Johnson, age 71 of Mountain City, passed away March 18, 2024 at her home. Karen was born August 26, 1952 to the late Rom and Nellie Sluder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Johnson; sister, Joan Evelyn Sluder and brothers, Kenneth Sluder, Donald Sluder, and Ronald Sluder.

Karen was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Tracy Miller; sister, Kathy Courtner, brother, Jerry Sluder; grandchildren, Austin Johnson and wife, Maci, Adam Miller; aunt, Lois Sluder; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating and special music by the Laurel Creek Boys. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery on Wilcox Road. Pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Adam Miller, Ivan Sluder, Junior Johnson, Jerry Sluder, and Brandon Courtner. Honorary pallbearer is Alan Storie.
