Judy Ramsey

Judy Ramsey, age 80, of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton, TN. Judy was born on June 27, 1939, to the late Cleo Anderson Richardson and Rebecca Richardson Vaught in Jefferson City, TN. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step father Dr. S.G. Vaught; sister, Betty Hardy; granddaughter, Molly Blackwell and husband Nick Blackwell and great granddaughter, Harper Willow Blackwell.   Judy dearly loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed caring for her family and preparing special meals, especially on holidays. She had a passion for dance and taught many students at Judy’s School of Dance. Judy had an unforgettable singing voice and was a member of the Ramsey Family Singers. Judy will also be remembered as part of the Ramsey’s Variety Stores and her service at the First Christian Church Pre-School. Judy also had a special love for her poodle, Rusty Bob. She was a member of First Christian Church.   Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 60 years, Fred Ramsey; daughters, Marsu Horton, Chelley Henson and husband Ronnie; son, Rick Ramsey; sister, Garnetta Smith and husband Mike; grandchildren, Tiffany Stout, Lucas Henson and wife Haylie, Trevor Henson; great grandchildren, Amelia Stout and Colton Henson; several nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Ministers Bud Gentry and Dwayne Dickson officiating. A graveside service will be held following the funeral at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, TN. Pallbearers will be Donnie Henson, Ronnie Henson, Bo Henson, Lucas Henson and Trevor Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the JCHS Class of 1958 and their spouses. A special thank you to the nursing staff and personnel at Hillview Heath Center for the loving care they provided Judy and her family.
